Divorce

Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.
–Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina

Every divorce is different. Each presents its own unique set of challenges. But at Armstrong Law, our goal is always the same: Help our clients turn the end of a marriage into an opportunity for a new and better life. Whether your divorce can be settled amicably, or leads to court, our years of experience have taught us that maintaining the emotional and financial well-being of the people we serve is paramount. With the right know-how, guidance, and support, your divorce can be a success, even though your marriage may not have been.

Child Custody

It’s simple: The children come first. We will do everything we can to protect them physically, emotionally, and financially. Whether it’s inside or outside of a courtroom–negotiation or confrontation–we will fight to ensure your parental rights are protected and the custody and/or visitation rights you are due are secured. (We are famously formidable advocates.) As your children grow and their needs change, adjustments may be required to the agreements that affect them most; we’ll be there for you and your children every step of the way.

Appeals

Sometimes, it’s not over when it’s over. Judgments don’t always work in your favor. Circumstances change. New information comes to light… Our attorneys can guide you through the complex opportunities and potential pitfalls of the appeals process with the goal of protecting your best interests from start to finish. We’ve traveled both sides of this road countless times; you couldn’t ask for better advocates.

Pre- and Post-Marital Agreements

“Hope for the best; plan for the worst.” As Family Law attorneys, we’re often the voice of reason in emotionally fraught situations. It’s our job to help ensure the best possible outcome if the worst happens. A premarital agreement can be created to protect wealth accrued before a marriage. A post-marital agreement can be drafted during the marriage to protect acquired assets, new ventures (such as new business assets or debt), newly acquired property, etc. Our attorneys have created pre- and post-marital agreements to meet a wide range of client needs. We can tailor one specifically for you.

Property Division

From multi-enterprise business partnerships and labyrinthine investment portfolios, to single family homes and simple savings accounts–almost every marriage in Texas involves some shared property and assets. O&G royalties and working interests, shared business accounts, stockholder interests, preferred stock options, or multimillion-dollar retirement accounts… we deal with the complexities of these assets every day. We know how they can be hidden, transferred, or even intentionally wasted, and we have years of experience securing the best financial outcomes for our clients in any kind of divorce proceeding.

Enforcement of Orders

If your ex-spouse is failing to comply with a court-ordered enforcement, we’ll assert your rights in court. Conversely, if you’ve been wrongfully accused of violating an order, you can count on us to defend you. To comply with every aspect of a law, you’ve got to know every detail of that law–and we do.

Modifications

Things change. Life changes. If you believe you have a reason to modify an aspect of your divorce decree, or you feel that an unwarranted modification is being forced upon you, we’re here for you. We can help you understand your options, manage expectations, and ultimately, help you present your best case in front of the Court. At Armstrong Law, our commitment to you will never change.

Paternity

Knowledge is power. Whether you’re verifying paternity or challenging it, we understand the need for clear advice and the support of proven, confidential resources. Once you know the results, we’ll help you make the best use of what you’ve learned.
